The solider stood in
the wind and tried to cover his eyes from the
blinding
sandstorm...
To the others he looked like a soldier
standing guard alone... but you see,
he was not alone.

For beside the soldier, unseen to the human
eyes there was an angel... sent
by his mother's prayers. Late into the night,
she would kneel in prayer in her
bedroom thousands of miles from him. And in
her mind, she could see an angel beside her son in that land so far away.

And in the soldier's mind, he remembered all
the words he had heard in
church. Words like, "Do not fear, I am with
you." "I know the plans I have for
you... plans to give you hope and a future."
And the soldier kept repeating those words
over and over in his mind for he
knew those words would not return void.

Yes, to all he looked like a lonely soldier...
standing guard... but he was
not alone.

For in His heart, he carried the Words of the
One who had created Him. And he
carried the love of that one and all the love
of his family and friends. He
was not alone.

And standing even closer than the angel there
was a presence He knew so well.
One He had called on so many times... and in
this presence there was such
love and such peace.

And so the soldier stood but not alone. He
stood surrounded by the angels...
guarded by the prayers of all those who prayed
for him... and near the
soldier's side... there stood the Lord.

Unseen... by the human eye but felt by the
very presence of His love. The
soldier turned and walked back down the
pathway... one set of prints was all the
other men could see...

The soldier smiled... and said a silent
prayer... "Thank you, Lord. See you
tomorrow night. Same time...same place. Thanks
for the angels too. God bless
America. Let them know we are here because we
love her so much...and always
will."

(As you pray for our soldiers, close your eyes
and see the angels standing
close by them... and then see the Lord walking
with them each step of the way.)

God bless our soldiers... Send the angels to
be with them... today and each
day that follows.

And remind them that they are not alone and
that you will never leave
their side.
