The sun was hot that day... Yet they had waited for
hours to hear this man speak. Many said He was the Son
of God... that He healed the sick... made the lame to
walk... and opened blind eyes. Could it be so? They
watched as He walked through the masses... there was
something different about this man... a presence with
Him... a light around Him... The sun reflected off the
rocks... making them look like diamonds. There was
something DIFFERENT about this man...
He smiled and began to speak... in just hearing His
voice... they felt refreshed... as if they had been in a
hot, dry desert... and now were at an Oasis...
refreshed...
"Blessed are the poor in spirit...for theirs is
the kingdom of Heaven..." Imagine... that... blessed...
are those who know they cannot live life without God...
those who feel a need to talk to Him... to inquire of
Him... ah...indeed they are the most blessed...
"Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be
comforted... "
He knew we would go through times when our spirits and
our hearts were utterly broken... and yet, He also knew
that it would be during this time... that we would touch
the splendor of Heaven... during this time that we would
feel His presence the most... during this time that we
would indeed learn that death is only a shadow... and
that we walk into HIS glorious light.
"Blessed are the meek...for they shall inherit
the earth... " Meek... to be gracious...
understanding... not always wanting things to go our
way... being willing to stand back and let another take
credit... be willing to let someone go ahead of us...
being willing to forgive...
inherit the earth... the riches of finding out that it
is only when we reflect Jesus we truly begin to really
live...
"Blessed are they which hunger and thirst after
righteousness for they shall be filled." Being on this
earth... but not really of it... filling our minds with
the thoughts of Him...reading daily His Word... and not
allowing the negative filters of this earth to fill
us... instead resting on His promises... staying our
minds on Him... and truly knowing His peace... realizing
that it is not about what we obtain in material
possessions on this earth... for they only entice us to
want more... but filling ourselves with spiritual
riches... those nothing can take away....
"Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain
mercy...." Knowing it is only when we embrace
forgiveness... forgive ourselves... and love God that we
can truly forgive another... knowing that we are
forgiven by Him as we forgive others... realizing that
any grudges we hold... somehow manage to turn inward...
and to do more damage than any other illness...
"Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see
God..." I think little children see God more than we
ever do as adults... because their hearts are pure...
there are no ulterior motives... but I also believe if
we seek Him, we shall find Him. God is alive... and can
be seen... We have only to look for Him... try looking
at the ocean... try watching a glorious sunset... Keep
your thoughts focused on Him... your intents pure... and
you WILL see Him.
"Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be
called the children of God..." Strive to live
peacefully with all mankind...realize that if there is
to be peace on this earth... indeed it does begin with
us... in our lives... we must first make peace with our
own self... and then with those around us... and the
road to peace goes on... and on...
The children of God... those who seek peace... what a
blessing to know... we are indeed the children of God.
He went on to say..."Blessed are those which are
persecuted for His sake... rejoice and be glad for great
is your reward in Heaven..."
Yes... long ago He sat on a hilltop... and spoke
to thousands... and today He sits on a throne... and
speaks to your heart...
The message has not changed... the love is still
the same...
And the Beautitudes... are still spoken by Him to
you today...
Living life... there is only one way... it
changes existing into truly living. Take time out of
your busy, hectic pace... and find some time as they did
so long ago to sit at the feet of Jesus...
Allow Him to speak to your heart...
I promise YOU will be FOREVER CHANGED.
Thousands of years ago... and each day the word
resound... and the meaning of them is ever true...
