This
is
a
rerun
about
the
fires
in
California
from
nearly
four
years
ago.
Recent
fires
in
Georgia
filled
Atlanta
with
visible
and
smelly
smoke.
What
I
experienced
while
vacationing
out
west
years
ago
hit
home
this
year.
The
fires
have
started
again.
Perhaps
we
should
read
this
again.
Miracles
In
The
Mist
=====================
I
live
in
San
Diego,
in
the
East
County
in
a
city
called
Santee.
Our
little
city
was
surrounded
by
fire.
And
if
that
wasn't
bad
enough,
the
city
next
to
us,
Lakeside,
was
also
on
fire.
As
you
commented
in
the
issue,
"The
Smell
of
Realization,"
about
what
it
must
have
smelled
like
in
San
Diego,
I
felt
I
had
to
tell
you.
We
could
not
open
our
doors
or
windows
from
Sunday
until
Wednesday.
As
soon
as
you
stepped
outside
the
smell
of
smoke
hit
you
square
in
the
face.
There
was
no
getting
away
from
it.
People
were
going
around
with
masks
on.
There
was
not
one
iota
of
blue
sky.
And
if
that
wasn't
bad
enough,
we
lost
power
from
Sunday
night
at
9:00
until
Tuesday
morning
at
5:00
am.
So
on
top
of
not
being
able
to
open
any
doors
or
windows,
we
couldn't
run
any
A/C
or
fans.
Tuesday
was
the
worst.
Around
2:00
the
sky
turned
to
this
eerie
orange
color.
It
was
like
something
out
of
the
Bible.
The
whole
feeling
throughout
the
city
was
just
plain
weird.
As
I
returned
to
work
on
Wednesday
and
started
seeing
other
people
again,
the
stories
started
to
pour
in
of
friends
who
had
lost
their
homes
or
had
near
misses.
But
God
has
been
so
faithful.
He
answered
every
prayer
I
prayed
during
the
fires.
One
for
instance,
was
that
I
prayed
for
a
friend
who
had
been
evacuated
and
left
her
home
as
it
was
surrounded
by
fire.
I
prayed
that
her
home
would
be
a
miracle.
When
they
returned
the
next
day,
they
found
that
their
home
was
the
only
one
in
the
neighborhood
that
did
not
burn
to
the
ground.
And
He
will
answer
more
as
our
city
rebuilds
and
deals
with
this
devastation
that
hit
us
so
hard.
Thank
you
for
your
time.

Grip,

From
The

We
learn
as
we
grow
in
wisdom
that
life
is
relative.
A
quote
from
a
prior
MountainWings
issue
is:
"An
individual
has
a
healthy
personality
to
the
exact
degree
to
which
they
have
the
propensity
to
look
for
the
good
in
every
situation."
Ralph
Waldo
Emerson
Three
things:
1.
Pray
for
those
who
are
facing
the
difficulties.
2.
Be
thankful
that
your
air
is
smoke
free.
3.
If
you
are
in
the
fiery
area,
be
thankful
for
lungs
that
can
breathe.
This
may
not
seem
like
a
big
deal
until
you
visit
someone
in
the
hospital
on
a
respirator
or
hooked
up
to
oxygen,
who
can't
breathe
ANY
kind
of
air
on
their
own.
Joanne,
in
the
midst
of
tragedy,
was
able
to
see
the
miracle,
through
the
mist
of
smoke.
Your
problems
are
like
fires,
that
scorch
and
burn,
but
in
the
midst
of
the
mist
of
your
smoke,
if
you
have
wisdom
and
spiritual
eyes
to
see,
...you
will
see
YOUR
miracle.
